Our number one jam here in Maine is to photograph weddings on private land. We love the meaning it holds and the feeling it gives to everyone in attendance. Krista and Adams wedding at her family cottages in Mid-Coast Maine were right up our alley! Adam arrived at the cottages just in time for a big huge rainstorm to hit. The ladies were just finishing up and the plan was to take Krista’s fathers boat and arrive via water to the cottages. It looked like it wasn’t going to work out but Krista put her foot down and said I’m taking my fathers boat. I don’t care if I’m late. I’m going with my Dad. I loved that. When brides know what they want and go for it even though everyone is suggesting otherwise is just what I respect. It reminded me of Danielle sticking to her guns and heading up to Cadillac Mtn for portraits on her wedding day. Go ladies. GO.
We arrived by boat.
The ceremony was full of sweet stories and memories and fun vows. With that first kiss, the cocktail hour was up and running with fun drinks and delicious snacks. Did we mention Adam was a chef. Yeah.. the food was delish. The rest of the night consisted of even more food that rocked our world (gimme more pork tostada!!!!) and surprise fireworks, and one of the most gorgeous Maine vistas we have ever seen: foggy, calm, river reflecting a stunner sunset. Such a good time.
