Meghan and Drew’s Georgetown Massachusetts Wedding

This wedding was a party… full fledged the whole time. Meghan and Drew live in California and they brought that vibe right back to Massachusetts. Meghan got ready in her childhood home, which is always my favorite tone setter for the day. All the ladies were wearing the bachelorette shirts they wore at her bachelorette party in Vegas… proclaiming, “Drew Who?” They all rode in a party bus to the ceremony. Do you see what I mean about a party day? They were married at the boarding school where they met long long ago! I loved that touch. How often can you get married where you met?? Dan and I would have had to have our ceremony at a public swimming pool. Not quite as perfect as Meghan and Drew’s ceremony spot.

It was a black and white event, where I even suspect that the guests were asked to don their best LBD’s since I saw a WHOLE lot of them. Everyone could have passed as a bridesmaid! The funnest part of the day? The fact that the dancing was almost non-stop outside of the events of the reception where you couldn’t be dancing. As I was editing I remember thinking, “Ok and now we are to the dance party. O wait. Nope. That was pre-dancing. O and then some more pre-dancing. And even more!” Congrats to you guys! You threw a fun party and now… YOU’RE MARRIED!

Karen and Roshan’s Cape Cod Wedding

Guests at a wedding we photographed last summer, Karen and Roshan and Dan and I go way back! Ok that may be an exaggeration, but it was fun to look back through Mara and Will’s wedding photos and see these two, crazy in love then, and crazy in love now. Back at the very beginning of this season, we met them in Newport Rhode Island for their epic engagement session. After photographing them that second time, we felt like we were definitely prepped and wedding for their wedding day: Cape Cod Meets India, (as they describe it). Well, when I came into the room where Karen was preparing… I was taken aback by her beauty. I swear it was good I had an hour to soak it in before we went to their first look because if I didn’t have that time, I may have been making the same face Roshan made.

The Baraat had me crying tears of joy because it was so stinkin’ FUN! Dancing all the way to the ceremony should be done at all weddings. For sure. The ceremony itself was very memorable and meaningful to me to witness. This is our first indian wedding to have the honor of photographing. We were able to learn about many of the meanings and symbols that were included in the ceremony and I.loved.it.all! My favorite part was when Karen and Roshan switch seats, signifying the fact that they are now a part of each other’s family, sitting closer to their new parents. YES! I love the focus on joining families that is emphasized in the day.

O yeah… then they changed into new outfits and began a dance party that has me seriously considering signing up for Bhangra dance lessons.

Vee and Mike’s Willowdale Estate Wedding

Vee and Mike’s Willowdale Estate wedding is finally here to show off on the blog! It was SUCH a classic and classy wedding, and if you don’t already know, we LOVE Tuxedos so this was right up our alley! Everyone got ready at the hotel and then we did a little non-first look right in the hallway since Vee just couldn’t help from at least holding his hand before the ceremony. The guys headed to a local bar and imbibed in some HUGE shots thanks to being friends with the bar tender. The ladies rode the trolley to the ceremony and waited in the wings for everything to start. There ceremony was much like other ceremonies except for one big unplanned moment when the FIRE ALARM WENT OFF! The priest, although a little confused, continued with the ceremony, although I do think he skipped over all the non-necessary talking. Right before they kissed, the alarm stopped, and we all went outside to find the fire department, all ready to go just in case. It was truly unforgettable. You gotta love a couple who can take that in stride. We obviously took some images with the firetruck because how can you not? Amiright? The “you guys are just too hot,” jokes came shortly afterwards.

We all headed to the gorgeous reception and Dan and I hung out with the bridal party on the front lawn, trying to keep up with the groomsmen and their antics. After a rowdy photo session, we took Vee and Mike for a few of just them, Vee laughing practically the entire time. Then it was dinner and dancing time! Everyone was so fun to be around and we didn’t want to leave, which I can only guess is how everyone there felt that night. We are so happy these two are married and we were there to photograph it.

Kim and Justin’s Gibbet Hill Barn Wedding

Kim and Justin are New York City dwellers, which is where we photographed their engagement session.  Him coming from a farm in Pennsylvania and her from Massachusetts, they chose to have their wedding at The Barn at Gibbet Hill in Groton, MA. It was a perfect place for their rustic winter wedding. Both of them have large families with lots of siblings. It was so fun to see them all become one big family on this, their wedding day. I loved how much Justin made Kim laugh. A lot of the images we got, she was laughing and so was he, showing what a joyous day it really was for them both. The speeches were heartfelt, and the details were spot on. After a delicious dinner, they danced the night away with huge smiles on the faces on both guests and ourselves. It was a great way to spend our Saturday, with these two happy people, very much in love.

Emily and Jason’s Cape Ann Engagement

Holy Moly Gorgeousness. I swear my hands were trembling during this session, from the amazingness of these two’s chemistry. Every time they had their backs turned, we both eyed each other, wide-eyed. We both knew that we were experiencing one of those engagement sessions that we reference all the time later in conversations like, “Remember Emily and Jason… damn that was awesome.” or “Let’s try and recreate that magic from Emily and Jason’s session.” or “Channel the Emily and Jason session.” or any other kind of reference of that sort. Sometimes you can just tell it’s one of those from the moment you begin.

We met them at a coffee shop in Rockland and immediately headed to Motif #1, the most painted building in the world. After that, we did a few more in town and then headed to a Wingaersheek Beach, stopping at a little field they spotted along the way. Emily got out of the car and had a boyfriend flannel with her. I died. Was this a Nicolas Sparks movie?? I mean really. Who is so awesome that she bring such a legit casual genuine beach outfit with her. It looked like exactly what you would wear if you were hanging out and wanted to run down to the beach for sunset for a little romantic moment with your boyfriend. You nailed it Emily. Nailed it.

After the session, they headed to the Red Sox game… you know the one where Big Papi knocked it outta the park? Yeah… well I think they had a pretty good evening. #gosox

Seriously though… if this is what your engagement session was like, Im going to start a countdown until your wedding day. I’m that excited.
