Cristina and Jim’s Lodge wedding in New Hampshire

Color! Style! Laughter! Joy! …. and of course LOVE! Cristina and Jim married on another a few weeks ago, but it felt like they have been married for eons. Perhaps this is because they are middle school sweethearts. The word “finally” was mentioned more than once by pretty much everyone, the couple included. As you can see, Cristina is a fan of color from her shoes to her bouquet. The couple grew all the flowers for the wedding and arranged them all the day of. The decor was all DIY, made lovingly by friends and family. I loved the garden theme and ALL THE COLOR! Did I mention it was colorful? I haven’t even mentioned the awesome clothing choices this girl made. Check out those Kate Spade shoes and designer dress by Francesca Miranda. Swoon. O yeah… her wedding band/engagement ring will knock your socks off too. We loved being there to witness this wedding and share the day with everyone. It was one of a kind.

Emma and Tate’s Hanover Inn, Dartmouth NH Wedding

Emma and Tate’s wedding took place at their beloved Dartmouth College, complete with classrooms and historic buildings and even a professor… her dad. Everyone got ready at the Hanover Inn and then Emma and Tate walked over to the Hood Museum of Art for their first look. It was so romantic watching them get lost in the moment and just hold one another and take the whole thing in. Tears were flowing. The ceremony was flawless and then we all headed over to the cocktail hour and reception. The first dance song choices were more than perfect, (“Into the Mystic” by Van Morrison: Couples first Dance, “Harvest Moon” by Neil Young: Father Daughter, “I Will” by the Beatles: Mother Son). The mother-son dance had me crying. You should have seen her singing the song to Tate! The dancing began and it was a night full of love for everyone there.

Hillary and Matt’s Porstmouth NH Engagement Session

We love love love this couple. From the moment they walked up to us at the top of a parking deck, to the moment we hugged goodbye at the bar after the session, we were smitten. You know it was a good time when we all went out for Lobster and drinks afterward yes?

To say it was easy to photograph these two was an understatement. A couple who brings ideas, props, energy, and true love to a session is bound to be effortless when it comes to making things fun with the camera. Hillary and Matt did just that. The photo we posted on facebook earlier last week was our most popular post EVER according to the stats. The best part is that the photo was all their idea… I hope that sheds some light on the amazingness.

We simply walked around Portsmouth and found cool walls and nooks for them to snuggle in front of. Next we went to a local park where the magic of pinks beach cruisers and big floppy hats took place. Enjoy Hillary and Matt!

Cristina and Jim’s Backyard Engagement Session

At first we had planned to go to Portsmouth, but the weather was bleak and we all decided to reschedule. When we did, we also changed the location to the couples backyard since Jim just thought it would be more comfortable for them both. We are SO glad we did because thier backyard is gorgeous and was the perfect setting to capture the essence of what we see in Cristina and Jim; laid back, simple, and in love. These two have been together for over 12 years and it showed in the sweetest of ways. Jim is tender with her, and Christina spent the entire session giggling. They know each other so well, and are sure of their love and themselves. It was a real honor to be able to witness that, and photograph it for them. Not to mention, Cristina was rocking a super cute dress, purple nails, and the same hairstyle she has had all her life. Can we say fashion forward?

Please don’t missÂ theirÂ couple interview they did for our blog recently, because the story will stop you in your tracks. August 17th can’t come fast enough for us because all we want is to be there and see the day that they have waited 12 years for.

Heather and Michael’s Wentworth by the Sea Elopement

They called it a “Planned Elopement,” and that’s just what it was. They fell in love, built a life together, and decided they wanted to get married. The catch was they didn’t want to have a huge wedding. After talking it over and letting thier families know, they moved forward with a teeny tiny wedding with just them,Â theirÂ little dog Harley, the Justice of the Peace, and us.

It’s funny how much you can grow to care about a couple in spending only 3 hours with them… but Dan and I were all in with this one. They charmed us withÂ theirÂ banter andÂ theirÂ laid back attitude towards the details: iPhone music coming from my camera bag, a locked dock that was supposed to be the ceremony location, and who was going to keep an eye on Harley, (he wandered around the whole time free as a bird). What they weren’t laid back about was just how much they loved one another. It was electric. You could feel it. You could see it. It was evident in each and every moment of the time we spent with them.

TheyÂ exchangedÂ vows on the dock, spent a few hours with us taking photographs to share withÂ theirÂ loved ones, and then… we all sat together and shared a bottle of wine, all having taken part in a romantic evening marked by a wedding and photos to go with it.
