Spring Point Light Portrait Session: Cody and Megan

Photographing our friends is always such a nice thing to be able to do. I love being able to give people we love something that I know they can’t do for themselves. Cody and Megan actually helped you guys out too this year, because they walked our little dog Hattie so many Saturday’s while we were away photographing your weddings! They made it possible for us to have her home when we got home, instead of at a kennel. That made our whole wedding season easier and happier and it included more dog kisses that we had in previous years. So important.

So… we photographed their little family, including their sweet dog Malachi. It was really really cold but these three handled it like champs. Plus, photos in the cold require more snuggling, so there’s nothing bad about that. Im so glad Cody and Megan are in our lives. They are so easy to talk to and spend countless hours on our couch watching TV and movies with us, sharing good food at our table, and being all around good friends who are comfortable enough to just spend the day hanging out, no plans, just being together. I love that about our friendship.

LOVE YALL <3 <3

Juneau Alaska Portrait Session: Josie and BJ

While in Juneau, you KNOW we wanted to photograph our friends Josie and BJ. The light in Juneau was easy-peasy however there was not a lot of it. Our days were dictated by the sunlight and how much time we had left before it was dark again. If we ever wanted to do anything in the daylight, we had to hustle to get up and get going in time. With this session, we spend the first 20 minutes with their kiddos at the glacier, then rushed to a friends house to hand of the little ones, then rushed across the bridge to this location to have only 30 min to bang out some photos with these two. When I say we chased the light, I am most definitely being serious.

Also… Josie… that red coat was everything in these photos. Fashion win.

Outer Banks Portrait Session: Joanna and Jon

Its my sister and my brother-in-law!!!

I was starting to feel like that cobbler whose kids had no shoes when it came to my sister and bro. We photographed their wedding back in 2011 however they had no update since then! We had tried to set up several shoots with them in the past but things get pushed aside when you only have a little time to hang out and you just want to hang out! Thankfully, earlier this spring, they came to visit us at the beach, and we were able to carve out some time for this mini session. Updated pics for our family members always feels good.

So enjoy my sister and her husband… energy and laughter for days.
