Maine Home Portrait Session: Noelle and Billy

Noelle is a local wedding and event planner that we adore working with. We met her last year at Abbie and Tanner’s wedding, and have since worked with her for two weddings this year and have our fingers crossed that we get to work with her even more next year.

When she asked us to photograph her and her husband on their one year anniversary we couldn’t have been more touched. What made it even sweeter was that we met up with them on the actual date of their anniversary. They invited us to their forever home they are in the process of building. When I say “building” I mean Billy is really building it… from an empty plot to what you see so far in these photos. It was such a great idea to do the session there! Then we headed across the street to their family property where they were married 365 days earlier. Pretty great I have to say.

Lili and Gordon’s Anniversary Session

Recently Dan and I photographed the 2016 Catalog for MTI Lifejackets! While we were there, we found a few moments to photograph Lili and Gordon, just as the sun was setting over Plymouth Bay. They are the owners of MTI and we have known them for a few years now, even prior to becoming photographers, back in our outdoor industry jobs. It’s fun to photograph friends and to be able to share our gift with people even if its just in a 10 minute session on a short stretch of beach.  Photographers: go take photos of your friends!

Þingvellir Iceland Portrait Session: Halldóra and Hobie

While we were on our epic vacation in the country of Iceland, we set aside some time to meet and photograph a local wedding photographer couple who live there! Since we knew we had a common interest, it made it a little easier to reach out to two strangers and ask to hang out! We traded sessions, photographing each other in this other-worldy environment. It was fun to see how different the four of us work, all ending up with a beautiful finished product. We will be sure to share the photos they took of us as well, so keep an eye out for that.

These two people are so intriguing and if you do ever make it out to Iceland, look them up for a session! (Let me make that easy for you: Arctic Weddings Iceland)

Halldóra and Hobie met in California while both were attending the Brooks Institute of Photography. They caught each other’s eyes and now they split their time between sunny, palm tree dotted California, and wild untamed dramatic Iceland. I’d say that’s pretty dreamy don’t you? We were shocked to find out that this session with us was their first time being photographed as a couple. I’m so glad we were able to do this with them.

Say high when you cross the country again you two!

Anchorage Alaska Portrait Session: Del and Matt

Oddly enough, we have FOUR friends who live in Anchorage Alaska! You have already met James and Lauren, and today we get to introduce you to Matt and Del! They just moved to Alaska from SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA and these two are missing that glorious sunshine. That being said, its a fun place to experience and the best part is they get to do it together. They just got married this past year and are starting their new life together.

As you can tell, Del is radical and amazing and gorgeous and fierce. Dan and Del went to school together and have since kept in touch all these years. Matt has been around a while and we have enjoyed getting to know him too, and all his knowledge on pretty much everything there is to know! After the session they took us to a coffee shop they love and I just let Matt pick out my drink because I knew he would know the best possible option and he was right. Delish!

So… enjoy the majesty of Alaska and the obvious love between two newlyweds.
