Mary and Jay had themselves a gorgeous Maine-y summer wedding! Everything took place on Peaks Island, just off the coast, but still technically part of Portland. While the guys got ready in a teensy weensy cabin, the ladies fancified in a colorful cabin of much more substantial size not to far away. While the guys played a little pre-wedding basketball, the ladies took shots of tequila. Sounds like a good one already isn’t it you guys??
The ceremony took place on a lawn overlooking the Diamond Island Pass, with sailboats and beautiful Maine views. Afterwards it was party time of course, celebrating the new Mr. and Mrs. with delicious treats and hilarious dancing.
There was lots to love about Mary and Jay’s wedding but I personally have three favorite moments. First, throughout the day, Mary was outspoken about just how happy she was and how thankful she felt for everything just being as she had dreamed. It was so sweet. Secondly, immediately after the ceremony, Jay was moved to tears as he walked away with this wife. To see a person fully in the moment and fully aware of the gravity of what they just experienced will never ever be anything less that monumental for me to witness. Its real. Its honest. Its what this is all about. Lastly, Mary almost jumped off the dock during our portraits because she was so excited. We all leapt forward to stop her and then laughed that she was just to jovial and stoked. Gotta love that. See how fun this was??
